Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of conflict management strategies on employee performance and job satisfaction. In this context, it is intended to determine which management approaches individuals working at Artvin Coruh University adopt in conflict situations they encounter in the workplace, and to investigate the relationship between these preferences (problem-solving, accommodating, forcing, avoiding, and compromising strategies) and employees' job satisfaction and performance. Thus, the importance of conflict management strategies in professional life will be better understood, and recommendations for increasing employee satisfaction will be presented. The research encompasses all employees working in academic, administrative, and laborer statuses at Artvin Coruh University. In this study, which includes a total of 956 employees, responses from 285 individuals were collected, and the obtained data were analyzed using the "Statistical Package for the Social Sciences" (SPSS-19) program. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses were applied in the study. According to the research findings, problem-solving and compromise strategies lead to positive outcomes by increasing job satisfaction, while coercion and avoidance strategies do not have a significant impact on satisfaction. The conformity strategy can negatively affect job satisfaction as individuals may prioritize others' expectations over their own needs. Problem-solving, avoidance, and compromise strategies directly influence job performance. Insufficient conflict management can weaken collaboration within teams, lead to communication issues, and negatively impact employee performance. Effective conflict management contributes to creating a more positive atmosphere in the workplace by enhancing employees' problem-solving skills. In this context, it is crucial for managers to accurately analyze conflict situations and determine appropriate strategies. Carefully selecting conflict management strategies offers the opportunity to maximize the potential for increasing employee job satisfaction and performance.
