Abstract (EN)
Since hotel businesses own a labour-intensive feature, the need for qualified workforce will always remain its importance although technology is developing each day. Therefore, it signifies ultimate importance especially for the employees working in hotel businesses in terms of staying away from organizational stress and experiencing no alienation towards their own organization. In these businesses that are composed of many departments and employees, it has become quite important to determine the employees?, formerly the ones that are in direct interaction with the customers, level of organizational alienation and to put forward suggestions connected with this topic. For that reason, if the hotel employees? level of organizational stress is high, it may not only cause a reduction in their performance but also it may influence their level of organizational alienation negatively.Applied in five star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar and Antalya, it was aimed by this study to determine the effect of hotel employees? organizational stress perception on their level of organizational alienation. Thus, a survey was applied to a total number of 465 employees who were employed in five star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar and Antalya. The views of the participants in terms of organizational stress and organizational alienation were tested with t-test for independent samples and variance analysis to see whether there is a meaningful difference between them according to their individual characteristics. In addition, the views of the participants regarding the relation between the perception of organizational stress and their level of organizational alienation were tested by correlation and linear multi-regression analysis. According to the study results,it was determined that the participants? both level of organizational alienation and the perception of organizational stress were found to be average.The views of participants do not differ in terms of organizational stress and organizational alienation according to place of work, gender, age, position in the organization, experience in the organization, experience in the tourism sector, and the number work change. However, it was determined that there is a meaningful difference between them according to marital status, income level, educational status, tourism education status, and the working department. According to the correlation analysis results that were exercised to determine the relationship between organizational stress and organizational alienation, it was found out that there is a positive and strong relation,andthe relation between the related variables turned out to be in r=0.623 level. According to the results of regression analysis, it was found out that the most effective organizational stress dimension of the organizational alienation is the characteristics of the work being practiced.Key Words: Organizational Stress, Organizational Alienation, Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Five Star Hotel Employees.
