Abstract (EN)

This study aims to investigate the effects of original and recycled carbon form nanoparticles on the tribological and mechanical properties of epoxy coatings. For this purpose, carbon nanotubes (CNT), graphene nanoplatelets (GNP), carbon black (CB), and pyrolytic carbon black (PCB) obtained from the pyrolysis of waste tires were added to the epoxy matrix at a weight percentage of 1%. Additionally, these nanoparticles were also added to the epoxy matrix in hybrid form. The tribological and mechanical properties of all the obtained composite coatings were evaluated through various analyses. To determine the properties of nanocomposite coating materials and coatings, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), cross-cut test, conical bending test, nano-hardness, and wear tests were conducted. To determine the corrosion resistance of the coatings, a salt spray test was performed. Furthermore, to observe the particle distribution within the coatings, perform surface analysis after the wear test, and interpret the results, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images were taken and examined. The results showed that the addition of carbon-based particles to the epoxy matrix improved the tribological and mechanical performance of the coatings.
