Analysis of temporal changes using forest management plan: The sample of olur forest enterprise

In this study, temporal changes in forest areas has been carried out by means of using planning data from 1998 and 2015 of Olur Forest Eneterprise under the Oltu Forest Management Directorate. 1998 and 2015 management plans of Olur Forest Enterprise have been prepared in GIS environment. The data of two periods were compared using by tables and graphs. The aim of this study is to reveal the temporal changes which of area, volume and increment, in land use classes, forest functions, stand types, sites, crown closure, age and development stages. While the forest areas devoted to a single planning unit in 1998 plan, is divided into seven planning units in the 2015 plan. Compared with 1998 and 2015 plans; it was determined that forest area was increased but the deforested area was decreased. Productive forest area has increased from 1998 until 2015. Hence volume and increment of forest has increased. As a result of the increased volume and area of the forest, carbon storage capacity has been increased.
