The evaluati̇on of accounti̇ng educati̇on eli̇gi̇bi̇li̇ty gi̇ven i̇n vocati̇onal secondary insti̇tuti̇ons to accountancy profesi̇on

In today's competetive environment, the number of businesses is growing rapidly, and this increase makes each profession and the members of the profession face the difficulties of keeping pace with this innovation and development. These innovations and developments are felt in the profession of accounting. The institutions in which education on accounting field is supplied at secondary level are "Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools",or whit their former title" Vocational Trading High Schools". The first stage of the necessary education process to meet the nedd for skilled personnel in the accounting profession is the accounting education given at the secondary level in these institutions. In this study,the adequacy of the accounting education provided in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools from the theorecial and practical aspects, the up-to-dateness of the training activities according to the changes and innovations in the sector and the legislation, and to the what extent the training programmes in the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools fulfill the function expected have benn determined and suggestions for solutions to the problems found have benn given.According to the study,the results that students cannot acquire the qualifications required by the accounting profession by accounting training given in vocational secondary institutions, that the individuals will not be able to perform the accounting profession whit the current accounting education in these schools,and that the accounting education in secondary schools should be restructured and practial education should be given more emphasis have emerged.
