Investi̇gati̇ng the relati̇onshi̇p between secondary school students' understandi̇ngs of nature of sci̇ence and sci̇ence process ski̇lls

During that survey, it was aimed to examine relations between middle school students'understanding the nature of science and their skill of scientific process. Additionally, depending upon of descriptive results, It was examined whether or not students' understanding the nature of science and their skill of scientific process depends on some demographic variables. If any, its effect value was calculated to obtain in which level. Sample of that survey consists of 426 middle school students who studied at four different schools in Adıyaman in 2016-2017 education period. During that survey, causative scanning and relational scanning was used as a model. Scale of understanding the nature of science which was developed by Can in 2018, and scale of skill of scientific process that was developed by Aydogdu etc. in 2012, were used as a data collection tool. Received values were analysed by the help of SPSS. At the end of that survey, it was obtained that there is a positive relation between understanding the nature of science and skill of scientific process in middle level. Relation ship between understanding the nature of science and gender, having internet at home, class level, parental education level or economical level wasn't be obtained. However, It was seen that understanding the nature of science differentiates according to school location of school and achievement at science courses. In terms of skill of scientific process, it was determined that terms of skill of scientific process differentiates according to gender, having internet at home, location of school, class level, parental education level, financial situation and achievement at science courses.
