Abstract (EN)

Human and environment are in interaction and the change in one of the factors that make up this interaction also affects the other. Today, the biggest problem of humanity is the negative changes in the environment in which it lives. It would not be a wrong statement to say that global climate change is at the top of these environmental problems. There are many factors that will be affected by global climate change and the life of living things is at the top of these factors. The effect of human activities on the acceleration of global climate change is seen. In reducing and stopping this effect, it will be effective for people to organise their activities. At this point, people need to raise awareness. The studies to be carried out for this purpose are of great importance. In order to support the studies, environmental issues and climate change, which is indispensably important in these issues, should be included in education. In this study, it was aimed to examine the views of secondary school students on global climate change. Qualitative research method was used in the study. The study group of the research consists of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students selected through criterion sampling who are studying in a public school in Central Anatolia in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research was conducted with 20 students. The research data were collected using a structured interview form developed by the researcher as a qualitative data collection tool. The interview form consists of 6 questions. Content analysis was used to analyse the collected data. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the participants were able to express the most important environmental problems in our country and in the world, the causes and consequences of climate change and what can be done against climate change.
