Secondary school students and social studies teachers' opinions on interactive educational software

Abstract (EN)

This study aims at identfying the social studies teachers and secondary school students perspectives about interactive education software. The qualitative data of this study is based on thirtytree secondary school students and 15 social studies teachers who study at a secondary school in Gürsu, Bursa. The interviev forms were designed seperately in order to determine the views of the students and social studies teachers for interactive education software. The reliability md validity of the forms were ensured by the experts. The data which was gatherd the interview forms subjected to descrigtive analysis. Arcording to the study results, it was understood that the teachers feel themselves comfortable and qualified with using interactive education software, it is also seen the physical infrastrueture of the schools are suitable for interacvtive education. Furthermore, it was seen that the theachers use interactive education software and the students we use EIF (Education Information Network) mostly, they prefer videos, and thismakes thecourses more understandable. In addition, it was indicated that the software should be enriched. Teachers' hands-on training on interactive educational software and reporting infrastructure problems that negatively affect the use of software to relevant institutions can enable more effective use of software.
