The example of evaluation on written expression skills for students at secondary school in Eleşkirt, Ağrı

The aim of this study is to investigate the variables affecting the writing skills of the students at secondary school and to determine the most recurring errors on the written expressions of the students. Field research used the scanning model was carried out with 426 students at eight secondary schools, four of which were in the center, four of which were in the village in the 2015-2016 school year in Eleskirt district of Ağrı. In order to determine the students' writing skills, the composition was written and the composition score was evaluated as YBP. At the end of the research, it has been found that there are significant differences on gender, presence of bookshelf at home, attitude towards writing essay,number of books read per month, reading time with family, class level and frequency of writing methods used such as note-taking, gap filling, free writing, dictation, groupwork, completing the text, re-writing, using senses,choosing words from word and concept pool,controlled,estimating, creating new text from a text, inductive, creaitve and critical writing method. On the other hand, it hasn't been found a significant diffence between writing skills score and variables such as education level of parents, the number of family members,the existence of a studying room, the average monthly income,the professions of parents, daily used language for communication, the frequency periodical publication used at home, the status of writing diary, the presence of people taken as a model on writing, daily televison watching period, school for education (center-village). In this study,the most common errors in the compositions have been collected under five headings, spelling, punctuation, planning, title and paper layout errors Key Words: Writing Skills, variable, method, error.
