Abstract (EN)

In this study it's aimed to study the digital citizenship behaviours of middle school teachers in terms of random variables. The descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The study was carried out with 350 teachers who were teaching in middle school level in the central district of Kütahya Province in 2017-2018 academic year. In this study,"Digital Scale for Teachers"- developed by the researcher- was used as the data collection tool. The scale, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis' were made, consists of 20 items and 3 dimensions: Education and Communication "," Respect "and" Protecting" . Three sub-factors explain 44.9% of all variance.Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient of the scale is 0.83, Barlett Test significance value of the scale was found as 0.00. Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficients and total item correlation techniques were used for the reliability of the Digital Scale for Teachers. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient for the whole scale was .82. In the context of confirmatory factor analysis, x2 / df (chi-square /degree of freedom) value was found as 1.64. This shows that the model has a good fit. The model's RMSEA value is 0.052; AGFI value is 0.87; SRMR value is 0.057; IFI value is 0.91; NNFI value is 0.90 and CFI value is 0.91 . As a result of the validity-reliability analyzes and subsequent statistical analyzes, it was concluded that the level of digital citizenship of secondary school teachers was high. Whereas there is no significant difference between teachers' digital citizenship behaviors based on their gender and marital status, there is a significant difference between teachers' digital citizenship behaviors based on their branch, professional seniority and frequency of internet usage. These differences are in favor of teachers who teach Turkish and English in the branch variable, new teachers in the seniority variable, and teachers who frequently use the internet in the frequency of internet usage variable.
