Abstract (EN)
Teaching is considered as an profession that requires to have more empathy than other professions because teachers are expected to care their students by providing an empathetic relationship with them through understanding their way of thinking and perceiving. Such teachers who have the ability to create strong relationships with students can increase the students? interest during the classes. This research has been done to investigate empathetic level of secondary school teachers in two schools of Başakşehir County of İstanbul. The results show that teachers who work as a teacher more than ten years have less empathetic tendency compared to the ones who work between one and nine years.
