Germany in the Ottoman press (1876-1895)

Germany, XIX. It emerged on the European political scene towards the end of the century and became a rapidly rising country. During the period when Europe became a new power element, Germany began to direct European politics. In the next period, it will seek to carry forward its strong position in Europe to the stage of monitoring weltpolitik (world politics). This process is also a phase of Ottoman-German relations. Our study, which deals with the period between 1876 and 1895 in Germany in the Ottoman press, also reveals a historical photograph of the period. The study consists of an introduction and four main chapters. In the introduction, Germany's emergence on the European political scene with its unification by defeating Austria in the Battle of Sadova and then France in the Battle of Sedan, and Ottoman-German relations until 1876 are discussed. In the first part, Germany's general attitude towards European politics, its relations with France, Russia, Austria, Italy and England are included, and colonial activities are mentioned. In the second part, Germany's developments in the military field, and in the third part, Germany's attitude towards the Ottoman Empire and the reflection of Ottoman-German relations in political and military terms on the Ottoman press are included. In the last part of our study, the general situation of education in Germany, students who went to Germany to receive training in different professional fields and the military field, technological developments, intellectual movements and news about daily life were discussed.
