Abstract (EN)
The Ottoman Empire and Iran had been fighting each other for centuries. With the establishment of the Safavid dynasty in 1501 in Iran, this struggle reached its peak. Among the reasons for this struggle was the fact that Safavid Shah Shah Ismail carried out propaganda activities among Turkmens in Anatolia, the idea of spreading Shiite and making Sunni hostility. The wars that started with the Battle of Çaldıran during the reign of Yavuz Sultan Selim continued until the end of the Safavid State in 1736. After the Safavid dynasty, many conflicts took place during the Afşar dynasty, which ruled Iran. In this period when political relations between the two states were intense, scientific relations followed a highly active course. The Sunnis, who were subjected to the pressure of Shah Ismail with the establishment of the Safavid State, had to migrate to the Ottoman State and Yavuz Sultan Selim, after the Battle of Çaldıran, exile a scholar group to Anatolia that started to consisting of scientific mobility during XVIth century. In this study, the reasons for the arrival of the Iranian scholars and artisans to the Ottoman Empire, and their works and their duties in the empire has been discussed.
