Abstract (EN)

The Ottoman Period has an important place in Turkish Islamic History. Because Ottoman Empire, which ruled in the three continents for six centuries, and included different nations with different religions and sects. Although the Ottoman Empire inherited the Islamic tradition, it contributed greatly to the Turkish Islamic Civilization. The most important element of the Turkish-Islamic tradition is undoubtedly the Prophet Mohammed and the prophet siyer culture formed around him. The aim of our study is to reveal the culture of Siyer and the sources of this culture in the Ottoman Empire which took over this tradition, And to determine the effects of the current culture of Siyer. In this study, the findings of the written sources reflecting the Ottoman siyer culture were given. Within the framework of the research methods of Islamic history, it has been tried to reach the aim based on the contemporary works. The effects of Ottoman siyer culture on social life based on the love of Prophet Muhammad and its reflections on social practices are discussed under the headings. As a result, it has been seen that the Ottoman political culture developed as a continuation of Turkish Islamic tradition and based on the love of Prophet Muhammad.
