Abstract (EN)

In this study, we introduced Turkish-Ottoman scholars from the establishment of the Ottoman Empire to its collapse and made a general evaluation of their works on Arabic rhetoric and the Ottoman period. As a result of the expansion of Arab lands, important scholars in the field of Arabic rhetoric emerged and many works were written by these scholars. It was of great importance that these written works were taught as textbooks in madrasahs. Due to the intense madrasa culture in the Ottoman Empire, scholars who grew up in the Ottoman Empire brought these books to their simplest form and wrote many commentaries, annotations and ta'liks on them. In these works, it is aimed to carry out an intensive study and to re-interpret and explain the text. Our thesis was written within this framework, and after touching on the lives and works of the scholars who lived in the Ottoman Empire and produced works in this field, we concluded our work by making general evaluations about the period. Key Words: Rhetoric, Arabic, treatise, commentary, annotation
