Abstract (EN)
Minorities were also represented in Ottoman Parliament. In the first Constitutional Era, eight representatives, and in the second Constitutional Era nine representatives were in charge for representing Armenians which were part of the minorities in Ottoman Empire. There was no Armenian Representative in the fourth period of second Constitutional Era.When we examine the activities of the Armenian representative, in general, we can say that they internalized the idea of Ottoman Empire. For example, when Ottoman-Russian war came out, in the Parliament, Armenian representative reacted against that war. They declared that they could do everything what ever it takes. Besides, they participated in parliamentary activities and frankly uttered impediments which should be improved in administrative, legal and militaristic issues. In the second Constitutional Era, they continued their frankly attitudes for a while. Especially in the first period of the second Constitutional Era, they welcome the Constitutional Era with pleasure and expressed this gladness repeatedly. In this era, they frankly participated in parliamentary activities too. After the first period, parliamentary speeches of Armenian Representatives reduced significantly, because they might think that Constitutional Monarchy does not contribute to their lives. Not meeting their expectance from Constitutional Monarchy affected Armenian Representatives? outside activities. Most of the representatives participated activities that were against the Ottoman Empire?s interest. Besides, there were Armenian representatives who were members of the Hınçak and Taşnaksutyun Party which were actively participated in rising. And those representatives actively participated in those parties? activities. In the second Constitutional Era, most of the Armenian representatives? in parliamentary activities and outside activities were contradicting each other. In the Parliament, some Armenian parliaments declared their loyalty to Ottoman Empire, but outside the Parliament they were actively participated in rising activities and betrayed Ottoman Empire. Because of those activities some Armenian representatives were adjudicated and as a result of trial some of them were executed.Key words: Armenian, Ottoman, Constitutional Monarchy (Era), Ottoman Parliament, Congressman.
