Turkish is a rich language that is spoken in a wide geography and is a language going back to ancient times. There are not many works on the grammar of such a deep-rooted and rich language in history. During the Tanzimat Period, studies were carried out on the teaching of our mother tongue Turkish and books were written on the grammar of Turkish. One of these grammar books is the grammar book "Śarf-ı Türkî (Turkish Grammar)", written by Lieutenant Colonel Mehmed Emin to be taught in the first grades of the Military Middle School. The basis of our study consists of translating this work with transcription and stating its importance in terms of Turkish teaching by revealing the content, language and expression of the work, grammar teaching method, grammar terms in the work. Scanning method is used in the study. The study has three parts. In the first chapter, grammar lessons and grammar teaching in Ottoman schools are discussed. In the second part, "Śarf-ı Türkî (Turkish Grammar)" is translated into Latin alphabet with transcription, and the sections of the work are examined and an index is created from grammatical terms. In the third part, the methods and techniques used in the work are identified. The purpose of the study is to reveal the place and importance of " Śarf-ı Türkî"(Turkish Grammar)" in Turkish teaching. For this study, related books, articles, master's and doctoral theses, Turkish teaching programs were examined. Keywords: Grammar, Turkish teaching, grammar rules, Mehmed Emin
