Abstract (EN)
This study, which was conducted to compare Osmanthus decorus (Boiss. & Balansa.) Kasaplıgil Herbal Tea with Rose canina L. and Tilia cordata Mill. Herbal Teas Procured from Herbalists, was carried out between 2021-2023. The fruits and leaves of defne yapraklı akçakesme used in our study were obtained from within the borders of Artvin province. Rosehip and linden plants were obtained from herbalists in Artvin. There are 6 samples in total in our study. Two of them are rosehip and linden plants obtained from herbalists. The other four examples are the lyophilized form of Osmanthus decorus fruit, the lyophilized form of Osmanthus decorus leaf, the dried form of Osmanthus decorus fruit and the dried form of Osmanthus decorus leaf. In our study, FRAP, ABTS, DPPH, Total Flavonoid substance analysis and Total Polyphenolic substance analyzes were performed to determine the antioxidant capacities of the samples. As a result of the study, it has been determined that Osmanthus decorus plant has close values to Rose canina and Tilia cordata plants, which are known to have high antioxidant capacity, and Osmanthus decorus plant has higher values in terms of polyphenolic content. It is suggested that Osmanthus decorus plant and tea can be used in preventive treatment against various diseases such as diabetes, cancer, neurological diseases, tumors and cardiovascular diseases caused by free radicals, since it is a good source of antioxidants.
