Abstract (EN)

In this study; firstly, the structure of letter wording used in "münşeat" texts, an example of Classical Turkish Literature, has been tried to be identified in terms of word groups. For that purpose, microfilms of works belonging to Osmanzâde Ahmed Tâʼib, one of the 18th-century biographer and "münşi"s have been obtained from libraries that are either domestic or abroad. After the examination of the copies obtained, the transfer of the copy chosen into today's Turkish alphabet has been carried out with the help of the other copies. The purpose of this study is to determine the linguistic features of the letter type under the light of an example of "münşeat" periodicals which have been said to be written in a certain pattern. A compilation of "münşeat"s has been chosen as the sample text so that the results found after the examination can cover a wider area. In this context, the transcription of the work chosen has been carried out by remaining loyal to the text and bearing the 18th-century linguistic features in mind. Context analysis of the work and letters has been made and the sections of the letters have been tried to be determined. Then, the linguistic characteristics of the letters, spelling features regarding the use of vowels and consonants have been determined. Mainly, word groups of all the letters in Münşeat have been formulated by the analysis of the largest word groups that could be found, with the simple bracket method. Following the study, it has been observed that a wide range of word groups were used in the language of 18th-century letters and that the constituent elements of these groups were made up of various Turkish word groups first, followed by Arabic and Persian words and noun phrases. It has been also observed that Turkish enhances diversity in a basic word group with word groups having different structures and that it broadens the constituent elements. Key Words: The Classical Turkish Literature, Münşeat, Turkish word groups, Turkish language.
