Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to develop a new practice for developing writing skill in the type of narrative text. The effect of Fiction Stairs that was designed for his aim was investigated on writing success and the writing attitudes of secondary school students. In the research, as one of the quantitative research experimental model containing pre-test post-test control group was used. The research was carried out with the 7 grades students of Koç Secondary School in 2017-2018 educational year, Bursa, Yenişehir. The process of the practice in the research lasted 10 weeks. In the experiment group, the lessons were performed by using Fiction Stairs Technique and in the control group lessons were performed according to Turkish lesson curriculum. In the research, narrative expression evaluation form and writing attitude scale for secondary school students were used as a data collection tool. The datas obtained were analyzed by using Mann- Whitney U- Test and Independent Sample T- Test. According to the findings obtained in the end of the research, was determined a significant difference for the benefit of experiment group. The writing education that was performed by using Fiction Stairs had a positive effect on the attitudes of writing and writing success of the experiment group students. Finally, it was proved that the Fiction Stairs is a practice which can be used in the writing education. Key Words: Writing, Writing education, Fiction stairs, Writing skill.
