A study on private security officers training: The case of Iğdır

For organizations that are in the struggle for catching the competitive advantage and for carrying on that, the importence of qualified human resources are gradually increasing. In this point the concept of training and development in organizations draws the attention. The main aim of this thesis is to reveal lacks of training by examining the private security training given in our country from the past to present. In the study conducted fort his purpose, discrepancy between instutions giving private security training and the training lacks of private security stuffs and perspective to vocational training has been examined. The study consist of four parts. In the first part, it has been explained instutions giving security security service in our country and the security concept. In the second part, following explaining the concept training and development in organizations and methods used in training and development activities have been dealt with. In the third part, the concept of private security and development of ptivate security in Turkey and in the World and private security training were focused on. In the last part, differences between instutions giving private security training, private security staffs thoughts abaout training deficiency and their point of view to vocational training were examined. According to the results, it was tried to determine training lacks of private security staff. Also it was determined that these training lacks stemmed from factors such as training instutions, training place presented by training instutions, quality and quantity of trainer stuff and training period.
