The relationship between jop stress and burnout of private security officers: Tunceli province example

In this study, it was aimed to determine the link between the job stress felt by private security guards and their burnout. In order to achieve the stated goal, the survey method was applied in the study. In the questionnaire, there are questions that determine the demographic variables of private security officers working in the province of Tunceli, "Work Stress Scale" and "Burnout Scale". According to the obtained survey data, a parallel correlation between burnout scores and job stress scores emerged. Work stress triggers burnout. Personal achievement sub-dimension burnout and job stress scores of female employees were found to be higher than males. When the total professional working time of the employees is considered, the depersonalization sub-dimension scores of those who have more than 20 years of total professional service are the highest. In other words, as the working year increases, work stress and burnout syndrome accelerate in direct proportion. In addition, the personal achievement sub-dimension scores of those with more than 20 years of total professional service are the lowest. Job stress mean scores by gender appear to be negative in male employees compared to female employees. In this study, when the demographic marital status, age, gender, financial income status of the individual and the total working time of the employees in the profession were examined, significant differences were found in the scales and sub-dimensions of burnout and work stress.
