Perceptions of private high school teachers, managers about the levels of "Technology leadership"

Abstract (EN)

This purpox of this research study is to determine the perceptions of private high school teachers and managers about the levels of "technology leadership". The study investigates the technological competence of school headers & menagers in appliying the everyday changing technology to their schools & makes recommendations in their weak areas. Relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Population consisted of teachers who worked working in private high schools affiliated to the Istanbul Provincial Directorate for National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. Due to the fact that it is difficult to reach the entire population and the Covid-19 pandemic measures, the sample of the research was made up of 160 teachers working in the province of Istanbul. The "Technology Leadership Competencies Scale of Educational Managers" developed by Banoğlu (2012), which includes the personal information form and the "National Educational Technology Standards for Managers" (NETS-A) standards, were used to collect data. By examining the normality distributions of the scales and their sub-dimensions, statistical methods to be used in the analysis of the data were determined. As a result of the research, according to the opinions of teachers, it was concluded that school administrators exhibited their ability of technology leadership to a "great extent". While it was concluded that there was no significant difference in school administrators' perceptions of technology leadership competencies according to gender, age, professional seniority, educational level assigned and computer use of years the following factors, on the otherhand, there was significal difference according to teachers' computer use of time during the day. As a result of this investigation analyses conducted to determine the difference, it was found that the perceptions of teachers who use computers for more than 3 hours are higher than those who use computers for less than 1 hour.
