Özet (EN)

Today, in parallel with the increase in the population and the growth of the world economy, the need for energy is increasing day by day. However, the limited fossil fuel resources and the negative effects of fossil fuel resources on environmental pollution led societies to search for alternative energy sources. The low emission profile of biodiesel makes it very attractive to use as an alternative fuel due to its properties such as its solubility in nature and its non-toxic properties. In this study, as an alternative to fossil fuels; Biodiesel obtained by reacting an alcohol from cottonseed and waste cottonseed oil in the presence of catalyst and fatty acid alcohol esters and glycerin by using transesterification method, the combustion, performance and exhaust emission changes on the engine were compared. In alternative fuel experiments, the engine was tested with reference diesel fuel and the performance values obtained were compared with the diesel fuel reference values and the results of the experiments were compared with the diesel fuel reference values. As a result, it is concluded that the use of biodiesel in engines can be used by mixing diesel fuel in certain proportions since it may cause various problems on the engine.
