Investigation of form / structure / material relationship in parametric designs

Since the existence of humanity, structures have been designed according to the structural system, form, and material to be used. The rapid development of the digital age has paved the way for the use of software, computer, and mathematical disciplines in the design of structures. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the changes brought about by parametric designs, which emerged with the inclusion of computers and software programs in the field of architecture, on the fundamental elements of the structure, form, and material. The use and impact of parametric designs in the construction sector are discussed based on the sample group, revealing their effects on form/structure/material. The study started by defining parametric designs and after examining the historical development of parametric designs, form, structure, and material relationship were revealed in the architecture. In the General Information section of the thesis, the purpose and scope of the study are determined, and basic information is provided. In the section on conducted studies, a sample group is selected, and the techniques to be used in their analysis are explained. In the findings section, the sample group was analyzed and the structure information cards were created. In the discussion and evaluation section, the effect of the basic elements on the design decisions has been revealed. In the conclusion section, evaluations and suggestions were made about the study.
