Abstract (EN)

To determine phytoplankton and epilithic algal flora of Pazarsuyu Stream (Bulancak), stone and water samples were taken from the defined stations periodically between June 2014- May 2015. Countings and identifications of the samples were made. Thereby, seasonal variations of the algae were determined. A total of 57 taxa were identified belonging to divisio of Bacillariophyta (51 taxa), Chlorophyta (1 taxa), Cyanbacteria (2 taxa) , Charophyta (1 taxa) and Ochrophyta (2 taxa) in the phytoplankton of Pazarsuyu Stream. A total of 55 taxa were identified belonging to divisio of Bacillariophyta (49 taxa), Chlorophyta (1taxa), Cyanobacteria (2 taxa), Charophyta (1 taxa) and Ochrophyta (2 taxa) on epilithic algae of Pazarsuyu Stream. Bacillariophyta members were rich in species diversity and intensity in the algal flora of Pazarsuyu Stream. The amount of chlorophyll-a were calculated monthly and chlorophyll-a showed usually similar values to the density of the phytoplankton in both phytoplankton and epilithic flora. Cluster analysis, Shannon-Weaver diversity and evenness and MDS were applied on phytoplankton and epilithic flora.
