PCB- HCB sources and distribution on the environment

It is almost impossible to think of a life where chemicals are not used today. Uses of chemicals generally include consumer goods such as cleaning products, paints, cosmetics, medicines, as well as fertilizers and pesticides for the agricultural sector, organic and inorganic chemicals, dyes, laboratory chemicals, which the manufacturing industry needs, including the chemical industry and thermo-plastics. POPs are one of the organic compounds. They are highly resistant to chemical and biological degradation and are the most important characteristics of being able to remain in nature for long periods without degradation or decomposition. In this study, we will discuss the exposure and effects of living organisms to PCB and HCB. While PCBs are found in natural waters, the sectors that are the source of this situation are carbonless paper manufacturing, iron, steel and aluminum castings, discharges made from pulp and paper mills and electrical industries. On the other hand, HCBs are the first conspicuous agricultural sprayer to be used, but are also used in synthetic cleaner and paint production, wood preservatives and fire extinguishers. When the exposure factors were examined, it was observed that both pollutants had significant effects on living life. It has been observed that PCBs have negative effects on immunity and nervous system and cause negativity such as miscarriage, developmental disorders, premature births and cancer.
