Abstract (EN)

Aim: Although the recently discovered 'aspirocin' hormone has been detected in relation to many systemic conditions, its relationship with periodontal organs has not been investigated. Therefore, in our study, it was aimed to evaluate the evaluation of aspirin in serum, ring and gingival groove fluid in people with periodontal disease. Material And Method: Among the patients who applied to Adıyaman University Faculty of Dentistry Periodontology Clinic, 75 (36 female and 39 male) periodontally healthy individuals with gingivitis and periodontitis without systemic disease were included in the study. Clinical periodontal measurements were recorded from the volunteers participating in the study, and serum, saliva and gingival groove fluid were obtained from each volunteer. Aspirocin and TNF-α levels of the samples were analyzed by ELISA method. Parametric and non-parametric tests were used for statistical evaluation. Results: The mean age of the participants in the study was 27.89 ± 5.28. When the levels of aspirin and TNF-α in the samples taken from serum, saliva and gingival groove fluid were examined, it was found that the patient groups with gingivitis and periodontitis were statistically significantly higher than the periodontally healthy individuals (p<0.001). However, there was no statistically significant difference in aspirin levels of individuals with periodontitis compared to individuals with gingivitis. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it was determined that the level of aspirin hormone in serum, saliva and gingival groove fluid was associated with periodontal status.
