Özet (EN)

Today, the number of motor vehicles increases day by day, increasing the rate of emissions of gas to the environment day by day. This increases the importance of diesel particulate filters day by day. It is used to reduce the amount of harmful gases that internal combustion diesel engines deliver to the atmosphere. The harmful gases, which are ignited in the combustion result of the motor, pass through the cross-systems in the particulate filters and are discharged from the exhaust. These gases pass through the porous particle filter while traveling in the cross-system. The gases and other harmful wastes that are released in the combustion are attached to the pores and deposited in the particle filter. Firms are trying to produce new filters using different materials in order to reduce exhaust emission values. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of converters formed using pumice, perlite and pumice and perlite mixture on the emission values of three different filters. As a result of the study, it was determined that the ratio of smoke darkness increased proportionally with the amount of load, the ratio of expanded perlite in diesel particulate filters decreased the smoke darkness ratio of pumice stone and increased the filtering property in proportion to the temperature values. Key Words: Diesel Particulate Filter, Perlite, Pumice, Converter, Fume Darkness
