Abstract (EN)

In this study, we aimed to investigate the changes in antioxidant parameters of carp fish exposed to two different doses(control, vehicle, 10 ppm and 20 ppm) of the synthetic pyrethroidpermethrin for two different periods (4 days and 21 days). The carps used in the experiment were transported from Yedikır Fisheries Farm (Amasya, Turkey). They have the weight of 50-60 g and length of 12-14 cm. The experiment was carried out with a semi-static system in natural light (12h light-12h dark). During the experiment, fish were nourished with pellet feed (45% protein, 19% fat, 3% crude fiber) once a day. Bradford method was used for total protein quantification. After calculating the total protein amounts, the amount of MDA, which is a biomarker of lipid peroxidation in tissue homogenates, was determined by the method of Beuge and Aust (1972). Catalase (CAT) activity Luck (1963), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) enzyme activity Lawrance and Burk (1976), superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme activity McCord and Frivovich (1969) in supernatants prepared to examine enzyme activities. Performed as described by. The data obtained at the end of the study were analyzed at the p <0.05 level by applying two-way analysis of variance (two-way ANOVA) in the 24.0 SPSS package program, and a statistically significant increase in liver was detected in the liver and gill tissues of the carp fish exposed to permethrin in both dose groups at 4 and 21 days compared to the control group, while a statistically significant decrease was found in the levels of CAT, SOD and GSH-Px (p<0.05). In conclusion, permethrin induces the antioxidant system by making a toxic effect in Cyprinuscarpio.
