Abstract (EN)

In the present study, effects of different concentrations of deltamethrin (5, 20, 50,100 and 150 µl) on hemocytes of Galleria mellonella were investigated at 24, 48, 72, and 96 hour periods. Five types hemocyte were defined in G. mellonella, prohemocytes, plasmatocytes, granulocytes, spherulocytes and onocytes. Total hemocyte counts (THC) was significantly affected by deltametrinden. In a first 72-hour period, THC significantly decreased compare to control at high deltamethrine concentrations (50, 100 and 150 µl), but at 96 th hours THC significantly increased in the concentrations of 100 and 150 µl deltamenthrin. Micronuclei formation was significantly affected by deltamethrin and particularly high concentrations of deltamethrin (100 and 150 µl) caused an increase in micronuclei formation in all groups. Consequently, deltamethrin effected the immune system of G. mellonella and caused genotoxic damages. Key Words: Deltamethrin, Galleria mellonella, hemocyte, mikronuclei
