Abstract (EN)
The earthen material, known and referred to as a traditional material used for centuries; With its natural, recyclable, ecological and aesthetic features, it has also found its place in contemporary architecture and even combined with technology, it has gained a new breath with today's architecture. In this study, unfired earthen walled structures produced with contemporary construction techniques; it has been studied in the context of the energy conservation provided by the earth wall to the structure. In the study, 30 structures with unfired earthen building walls produced using contemporary construction techniques were examined. Journals, articles, books, etc. attention has been paid to the fact that these structures with different functions scanned from sources are located in different climatic and geographical regions of the world. Earthen walls, the structure's tag, visuals/technical-schematic drawings, the use of energy conservation criteria in the building were analyzed and evaluated with a table under the subheadings. The study consists of 4 main sections: general information, studies conducted, findings and investigations, results and recommendations. In the general information section, the purpose, scope and method of the study were given; in the studies section, literature research and analysis were included. In the findings and investigations section, sample structures and unfired earthen walls belonging to these structures were examined. As a result of the examples examined, it has been concluded that the use of unfired earth in the production of wall elements will contribute to the energy conservation of the building in terms of allowing thermal insulation and natural ventilation.
