Özet (EN)
Within the scope of this thesis, particulate matter emissions of piston engine aircraft between 2018 and 2019 were sampled. The study was carried out at Hasan Polatkan Airport located on the campus of Eskişehir Technical University. Sampling was carried out with the aircraft in ground conditions and in the park position. Sampling was carried out under six different engine power cycles and three different fuel mixture conditions. During the sampling process, some parameters related to the engine were recorded. Trace element analyses and electron microscopy analyzes were performed on the collected particulate matter samples. Emission factor calculations were performed for mass emissions and trace element results. When the particulate matter mass emission results are examined, it is seen that the mass emissions are higher than the average engine power level at low and high engine power levels. Such a result was not observed in the trace element analyzis results. It has been observed that Pb, Na, Al, S, Ca, In and Sn elements come to the fore in trace element analyzes. At the same time, the actual flight data of the sampled aircraft and the particulate matter and trace element emission values in and around the airport were examined.
