Abstract (EN)
Modernism?s losing its effect gradually after the World War 2. caused the conversion of the old perceptions in literature just like any other branches of art. Deductive, solemn, mature and ?absolute right? novel perception of Balzac novel remainin from the modern ages changed, instead, a new novel which highlights the fiction, marking the relationship between the texts, making the pluralism and drama the main factors of novel emerged. This New Novel Trend led by Alain Robbe-Grillet influenced today?s novel with this features and influenced Orhan Pamuk just like many other novelists like Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Jorge Luis Borges. Orhan Pamuk catch up with the Postmodern literature which is presently dominant in the World literature with his novels ?Beyaz Kale? and ?Kara Kitap? which brings him the actual reputation after his first two novels and in this way managed to introduce himself to this audience with the Postmodern tricks which are familiar to the worldwide readers. However this ?tricks? of Orhan Pamuk was found peculiar by the audience not knowing the Postmodern literature and he was thought to be ?enigmatic?.Our study is a product of endeavor to make Orhan Pamuk more understandable by deciphering these Postmodern tricks in his novels. For this, firstly historical period that forms the Postmodern thinking?s substructure is mentioned, then the term Postmodernism?s content is dealed with definition try outs, lastly features of Postmodernist literature are introduced with item by item.Searching these items in Orhan Pamuk?s novel, we examined his novels in detail with a Postmodernist concern. At the end of this study we intended to be able to introduce both Postmodernism and the Orhan Pamuk?s novel writing/ novels.Key Words: 1.Orhan Pamuk 2.Postmodernism 3.The New Novel 4.Metafiction 5.Intertextuality
