Abstract (EN)
Objective: To determine the effect of Roy adaptation model-based training given to postpartum mothers via telemidwifery on postpartum physical symptom severity and depression level. Method: The sample of the experimental type randomised controlled study consisted of a total of 70 women between the 4th/6th week postpartum, 35 in the training group and 35 in the control group. The data were collected using the personal ınformation form, postpartum physical symptom severity scale (PPSSS) and Edinburgh postpartum depression scale (EPDS). The training group received training consisting of 4 weeks and 8 sessions prepared in accordance with the Roy adaptation model (RAM). The trainings were given within the scope of tele-midwifery by sending a training booklet, sending reminder messages, and explaining the training topics via telephone. Results: No significant difference was found between the groups in the mean scores of the pre-test PPSSSS and EPDS (p>0.05). After the training, the mean scores of the first and second measurements were significantly lower in the training group (p<0.05). The mean scores of the first and second measurements of the EPDS were significantly lower in the training group (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it was found that RAM-based education provided through tele-midwifery was effective in reducing postpartum physical symptom severity and depression levels (p<0.05). The training provided by this method was effective in preventing health problems and complications that may occur in the mother in the postpartum period.
