The effect of academic achievement and attitudes on the 7th grade students of problem based learning method and improved 5E learning model

This study's aim is to determine the effect of academic achievement and attitudes on the students of prepared problem based learning method and improved 5E learning model related with the topic of subgrain Structure of substance and mixture in the lesson Sciences of the 7th grade students. The study is made in the county of Doğankent of Giresun on the 7 th grade students in 2016-2017 academic year. Two groups are created such as control and experiment. Whereas the lesson are taught with current Science program in the control group, the lessons in the experiment group are taught giving problem based learning method in the deepening stage of 5E learning model. Achievement tests as pretest-posttest and the manner scales towards Science are practiced on both control and experiment groups as data collection tool. The test is brought about using SPSS 16.0 package program in order to analyze datas. İt is confirmed that there is the significant difference between the experiment and control groups of achievement groups at the end of the study. And then, it is determined that this difference is ended up positive on behalf of experiment group. When the manner scales are examined, it is showed that there is a signisicant difference possitively in the control group practising problem based learning method.
