The life and scientific personality of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cemal Sofuoğlu

This dissertation titled "The Life and Scientific Personality of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cemal Sofuoğlu" deals with the life adventure of an academician who worked in the field of Hadith, a thinker who pondered on Islamic tradition and Muslims, a teacher who trained students, and at the same time an intellectual who touched the lives of many people with his ideas and actions. Our study consists of an "Introduction" providing information about the purpose, methodology, and sources, and two main chapters. The first chapter offers details about the biography of Sofuoğlu. It covers his birth, educational background, public duties and academic career, marriage, personality, and aspects related to his death. The second chapter is devoted to the works of Sofuoğlu. In addition to his copyrighted works, his translated works into Turkish have been examined, and his dissertations and articles have been analysed by us. In addition to general information about the works in question, details about their contents are given and also the contributions of each work to our literature are tried to be expressed. Our dissertation ends with an evaluation of Sofuoğlu's life, personality and works.
