Abstract (EN)

Nowadays diesel fuel is used in many vehicles. There are increasing and various studies on alternative and reusable fuel because of the reduction in the amount of petroleum and the contamination it causes. One of the most important points of the studies on alternative fuels is their being reusable as reusable fuels are environment friendly, boundless and they have decomposible features in the environment. Within this study, biodiesel is extracted from aspir oil. The biodiesel acquired is mixed with different amounts of propanol and tested on a diesel engine as a fuel. The engine performance, combustion parameters and contamining exhaust emissions of both biodiesel and propanol mixture have been experimented. When the results are compared, there isn’t much difference between diesel engines and biodieselpropanol mixture fuels in terms of engine performance, fuel consumption and emission proportions. But a decrease in NOx emission has been observed. It can be seen that there is an increase on cylinder pressure, heat oscillation rates, total heat oscillation and average gas heat inside cylinder in accordance with the rise in load. As a result, it can be said that aspir biodiesel and propanol mixture can be added to diesel in certain proportions as an alternative fuel.
