Abstract (EN)

Even though the beginning of Arabic literature and novelism dates back to a very old time, the beginning of modern Arabic literature began with Napoleon's invasion of Egypt in 1798. Egypt, which pioneered modern literature and novel writing, was followed by Syrian literature. Under the influence of developments in fields such as printing press and journalism, the 19th century. In the second half of the century, many innovations and developments took place, especially in the field of novel writing, as well as the emergence of world-famous writers in this field. Hanna Mina, one of the most important names of modern Syrian literature and novelism, was born on March 9, 1924 in Latakia, Syria, and lived in Iskenderun until 1939. In most of his novels, the author discussed the geography and society he lived in from a social realistic perspective and tried to convey in a simple and clear language the suffering he suffered, the poor, the problems of the people, and the collapse caused by the war itself and the society. This study consists of an introduction and three parts. In the first part of our study, Arab and Syrian novels were discussed in general terms; In the second part, the literary personality, life and novels of Hanna Mina, who has an important place in Syrian literature and novel and is one of the leading writers of the social realist movement, are discussed. After giving information about the author, a list of his works is given. In the third chapter, after giving information about the characters in the author's three novels (Dimitri's Drama, Memories and The Struggle of Two Women), their psychological, sociological and political dimensions were examined. In the conclusion, the results obtained from these three novels were determined, taking into account Hanna Mina's novel writing.
