Abstract (EN)
Aim: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate volar cortical and radial inclination angles depending on age and gender and to determine the correlation between these two angles. Material and Method: Records of a total of 121 individuals, 59 females and 62 males, adolescents and adults aged between 10-65 were examined. In this study conducted in two groups, 60 adolescent groups (31 females-29 males) under the age of 20 and 61 adults (28 females-33 males) aged 20 and over were included in the measurement criteria. Radiographic images was evaluated with 3.0.1.55 version of KarPacsViewer application. Measurement points were determined and angles between these points were measured. Statistical analyzes were made using the SPSS 15.0 program. Results: A statistically significant negative correlation was found between volar angle and age in all individuals included in the study (p<0.001; r= -0.396). In addition, a significant difference was found between the 10-19 and 20-65 age groups in terms of volar angle (P= 0.0001). When females and males were compared in terms of radial and volar angles, no statistically significant difference was found (p = 0.9580; p = 0.1650, respectively). Volar angle decreased as the age increased in females (n = 59) (p = 0.004; r= -0.365), while both the radial and volar angle decreased with increasing age in males (n= 62) (respectively, p= 0.032; r= -0,273, p<0.0001; r= -0,445) There was a significant difference in volar angle between 10-19 and 20-65 age groups in females (P = 0.0050), and a significant difference was observed between these age groups in terms of both radial and volar angles in males (P = 0.0180; P = 0.0001, respectively). Conclusion: The research data will be a preliminary reference for the studies to be made. It is concluded that it would be important in the appropriate plate designs the planning and treatment process of surgical procedures.
