Designing and implementation of campus expenditure system using RFID tecnology: University example

The information society that we live in provides significant value to the human life. The integration of data-information and information-technology brings up the information system technologies. It is important to serve up the information systems to the business, organisation or institutions by supporting their target, in terms of institutional benefit. There are effects of automatic identification system such as healthcare, procurement and logistics, tracking systems that ease human life. RFID technologies contribute to the transition management system, attendance control system and expenditure systems in many organisations and institutions especially in universities. The purpose of this study is to develop expenditure system for canteens and cafeterias, which will provide benefit in terms of time and space for employees by integrating RFID technology to the smart card system used in Dokuz Eylul University. Developed POS expenditure system, with the electronic money loaded from Kiosks, provides acquisition of space and time for the workers in the institution. Besides providing benefits to its users, the system also makes the reporting of obtained data in expenditure system statistically possible. Management information system reveals how to use the opportunities of technology by managers and organisations. The system will be used as management information system and data processing system tool, considering institutional opportunities. The Dokuz Eylul University Campus is determined as the field of application. Software's are used for designing Expenditure Systems: PHP, C#, Oracle, and Ardunio IDE.
