Özet (EN)

This study has been conducted to examine the relation between attachment styles, romantic jealousy and relationship satisfaction. Study group of this study consist of totally 460 participants (237 males and 223 females) aged between18-61 (X = 28.73) who live within Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality district. Personal Information Form, Romantic Jealousy Scale, The Experiences in Close Relationship Scale-II and Relationship Stability Scale were used as data collection tools in this study. Results show that attachment styles are considerable predictors of romantic jealousy level; that jealousy increases as anxious attachment increases; that jealousy decreases as avoidant attachment increases. Moreover, there has been a negative relation between avoidant attachment and relationship satisfaction, each of the three jealousy triggers, emotional reaction, way of speaking, and level of agreeing with the opinions that jealousy has positive effects; whereas there has been found a positive relation with indifference method. Results show that there is a negative relation between relationship duration and jealousy, emotional reaction, fear of loss, and constructive coping methods. Findings are discussed in the light of the literature. Key words: Relationship satisfaction, jealousy, anxious attachment, avoidant attachment.
