Psychometric properties of the Turkish version of The Mental Health Quality of Life Qquestionnaire

This methodological research was conducted to determine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Mental Health Quality of Life Questionnaire developed by van Krugten et al. (2022). The sample of the study consisted of 310 patients who applied to the psychiatric outpatient clinics of Bandırma Training and Research Hospital and Gönen State Hospital between October 2022 and June 2023. The data of the study were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Mental Health Quality of Life Questionnaire, Three-level EuroQol Five-dimensional Questionnaire, and Brief Symptom Inventory. In the evaluation of the data, descriptive statistics, validity and reliability analyzes were used. It was determined that the Turkish version of the Mental Health Quality of Life Questionnaire showed a single-factor structure consisting of 7-items and the factor loads of the items varied between 0.426 and 0.727. The fit indexes of the scale were calculated as χ2/df 1.212, SRMR 0.026, RMSEA 0.026, GFI 0.985, AGFI 0.969, CFI 0.995, IFI 0.995, and TLI 0.991. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.792. Item-total score correlation coefficients range between 0.378-0.609. In this regard, the Turkish version of the Mental Health Quality of Life Questionnaire has been shown to be a valid and reliable measurement tool.
