Abstract (EN)

Upon found of petroleum and coal, the fosil fuels burned in century has left much amount harmful egzost gases to atmosphere. In the course of time, the accumulation of these egzost gases in the atmosphere than limits has caused global warming due to the behavior of more sun rays absorbed. So the existance of environmental disaster and season changes in the near future will be unavoidable if the global warming not interfered on time. The consicuousness on finite fosil fuels and global warming problem is obligated us to utilise from the renewable energies as soon as possible. Today sun and wind energy is the most available energy source in the world so to transit to renewable energy. Today the wind energy has been the most utilized one differed from the sun due to the utilization made at low cost and at high efficiencies. Today the electrical energy can be produced from the wind energy by means of the wind turbines which power exceed 1MW. The efficiency of a wind turbine is depend directly on the performans of the airfoil used. However the performance of an airfoil is changeable with attack angle and wind velocity so it is impossible to find an airfoil which represents the best performance at every condition. In general the performans of an airfoil is measured with the ratio of CL/CD. Here CL is the lift force coefficient and CD is the drag force coefficient. In this study five different airfoil has been selected from different airfoil family available on www.m-selig.ae.illinois.edu so to use on wind turbines. Their performanses of those selected airfoils is tested numerically at different attack angles (O<α<20) and different wind velocities (4, 8, 16 ve 32 m/s). Numerical results has shown that the all the airfoils performanses increase at a decreasing gradient as the wind velocity increases and the whole airfoil profiles represent maximum performances at the attack angles of 4≤α≤7. On the observation of the pressure distribution on airfoil surfaces, the profile data of two different airfoil profiles is combined to form a new airfoil named as hibryd. According to the numerical results obtained, hybrid profile has represent higher performance than two airfoil profiles at attack angles of 4≤α≤7 and has shown a more stabile performance at other remain attack angles by eliminating the disadvantages of the two airfoil profiles.
