Abstract (EN)

Turkish healthcare system transformation began in 2002 and it has affected employees the most. The quality of services delivered by the healthcare employees positively related to the employee job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The nature of the relationship could be modified by employee work load. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between employee work load, and perceived job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Within the framework of study purpose, a survey was developed to obtain data from healthcare employees concerning their perceived work load, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. 200 healthcare employees from public and private hospitals in Diyarbakır province provided usable data. The results of the analysis indicate that healthcare employees' perceived work load, job satisfaction an organizational commitment varies by some of the individual characteristics. The study recommends that healthcare employees' perceived work load need to be lessened if organizations want to increase the quality of work outcomes such as organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Further research should focus on the relationship of work load to other organizational outcomes such as performance, productivity and innovation.
