Medicinal and aromatic plants of Salarha valley (Rize)

This research is contucted to try detecting medicinal and aromatic plants that have been known and used by local residents of Salarha Valley in the central of Rize in 2018 – 2019. In the study; it is detected that 25 families and taxons belonging to these families have been used. Local people are interviewed, questionnories are applied (76 people), used medicinal and aromatic plants are detected. In the area, Rosaceae, Ericaceae, Asteraceae are the most taxon-included plants that used as medicinal and aromatic in 25 families. In applied questionnaires; the most widely used herbs are respectively Tilia rubra, Urtica dioica ve Vaccinium arctostaphylos. It continuesas Prunus laurocerasus, Rhododendron luteum, Castanea sativa. It is identified that; the most common disease are cold, rheumatism, diabets. In the study; medicinal and aromatic plants purpose o use, used parts, effective, subtances which it involves and the well-known names are given
