Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the Effect of cyberloafing behaviors on job satisfaction. Cyberloafing is the behavior in which employees perform their personal work by using internet-based tools (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.) during working hours. When the relevant field is examined, attention is drawn to the threats created by cyberloafing behaviors as well as the convenience they provide. Therefore, it is considered important to know the share of these behaviors, which have a two-way effect, in job satisfaction or dissatisfaction. In this research, which is discussed within the scope of Planned Behavior Theory and Interpersonal Behavior Theory, the display of cyberloafing behaviors is shaped by the intention, habits, experiences and facilitating factors of the employees. The study generally consists of literature research on cyberloafing and job satisfaction, and an analysis section in which the relationship between these two concepts is measured with the help of a questionnaire and the findings are interpreted and discussed. The questionnaire form is comprise of three parts: demographic information, cyberloafing behaviors scale and Minnesota job satisfaction scale. In this study, employees of Gölbaşı district municipality of Adıyaman were asked to fill out the questionnaire. 171 employees from 12 different units (administrative and field workers) participated in this study. The Analysis of the research was done with IBM SPSS 25.0 package program. Correlation and regression analysis were used to analyze the obtained data. According to the results of this study, the learning-oriented cyberloafing behaviors of the municipality personnel affect the internal job satisfaction positively and meaningfully. In addition, employees' cyberloafing behaviors at the level of recovery, deviant and addiction affect their internal job satisfaction in a meaningfully and negative way. The meaningful effect of cyberloafing behaviors on external job satisfaction has not been found in this study.
