Abstract (EN)
This study tries to examine removal of germination difficulty and, to determine germination percentage of Arbutus andrachne seed collected by Fıstıklı Village, Artvin. In Autumn 2013, the examined seeds were preserved in a refrigerator at 4±1°C after collected from Arbutus andrachne bodies located in Fıstıklı Village, and teared off their pulp and dried until pretreatment and planting period. The preserved seeds were prepared to planting process in three different ways. The seeds were prepared to planting process, firstly proceeded with GA3 as a pretreatment, second proceeded with concentrated H2SO4 as the second treatment, third proceeded with H2SO4 and without any treatment in order to create a control group. In November and December, the control group seeds, the seeds proceeded with 400, 600, 800, 1000 ppm GA3 for 24 hours and the second group seeds proceeded in 1, 3, 5, 7 minutes H2SO4 were planted in the greenery and open area and laboratory circumstances for three repeated turns that consist of 50 seeds to be planted. The highest germination percentages (%78.0, %86.7, %88.0, %94.7) were observed in the seeds that were planted in the laboratory after kept at 400-1000 ppm GA3. Identically, it was observed that the seeds kept at 400-1000 ppm GA3 had the highest germination percentages (%80.0, % 84.7, %86.0, %86.0) in the plantation that was carried out in the greenery. The highest germination percentage observed in the open area (%26.7) belonged to the seeds that were kept at 400-1000 ppm GA3 and the control group seeds (%25.0).
