Snakes of Şanlıurfa Province

In this study, a total of 170 specimens belonging to 21 snakes that were collected from Şanlıurfa province between 2016 and 2017 as well as in previous years (2004-2015) and preserved in ZMADYU (Zoology Museum of Adıyaman University) were examined. Nine of the samples examined were belong to Typhlopidae, 17 to Leptotyphlopidae, 9 to Boidae, 130 to Colubridae, 1 to Elapidae, and 5 to Viperidae families. As a result of the field studies, the species of Rhynchocalamus satunini (Artificial Soil Snake) from Şanlıurfa province was reported for the first time. The color-pattern, meristic pholidosis properties of the samples were saved and some metric measurements were taken. In addition, ecological and biological information has been given about the species observed.
