Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of PRP on the flap viabilti of total venous insufficiency formed epigastric island flap. Inferior based rat epigastric island flaps were used in the study. Studies were performed on 17 Wistar male rats. Rats were randomly divided into three groups, namely experimental, sham and control. 0.5 ml PRP was applied intraoperatively to the experimental group. Rats were followed for 7 days. At the end of the seventh day they were sacrificed with high dose I.P. Ketamin injections. Assesments was made by macroscopic observation, comparison of flap necrosis percent with topographical analysis in digital media, and histopathology. While necrosis was observed on postoperative day 7 in sham and experimental group, venous insufficiency and lower percents of necrosis has been observed in the experimental group. Macroscopic findings were confirmed by histopathological examination. Differences have been observed between necrosis percents of experimental, control and sham groups by comparison of measurement with topographical analysis, but it was not statistically significant. Based on these findings, the effect of PRP on flap viabilti is controversial in the total venous insufficiency formed island flap.
